Journalist murder case on Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh- In Panchkula Special CBI judge Jagdeep Singh convicted Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and three others in the murder of journalist Ram Chander Chhatrapati.
Whereas the other accused – Krishan Lal, Kuldeep Singh, and Nirmal Singh – were present in person in the courtroom, the Dera chief was presented through video conferencing. Recently, the CBI judge had accepted Haryana police’s application wherein the cops had sought permission to allow the presence of Ram Rahim Singh through video conferencing for the verdict in a murder case on January 11.

Police personnel has also been deployed in near the sunaria jail in Rohtak where ram Rahim was convicted twenty-year term. Panchkula DCP Kamal Deep Goel imposed Section 144 of CrPC throughout the district Thursday.
journalist Chhatrapati was shot at October 2002 after his newspaper ‘Poora Sach’, published a letter that narrates how women were sexually harassed by Gurmeet Ram Rahim at the Dera headquarters in Sirsa. The journalist later succumbed to injuries and a case was registered in 2003. The case was handed over to the CBI in 2006.
